Earlier this week, with the executive approval, the following email was sent to Mr. Little.... Zack, Al Coolen, our vice president, spoke to you Sunday at the field about the new Transport Canada regulations. Since you didn't renew your MAAC until April this year, it is quite possible you have no idea of the new rules and regulations that apply to all RC flying in Canada now.
In order for you to legally fly your RC aircraft, you MUST have a Transport Canada PIlot Certificate. Here is a link to the Federal Government web site where you can register and take the test. The test is 35 questions, takes up to an hour and a half, and costs $10.00 to take. Should you not pass the first time, you can retake the test after 24 hours. Once you have the Certificate, you show it to a member of the club executive, pay your club dues and you are good to fly.

There are study guides on Youtube designed to help you pass the exam. Don Joyce has a few of them and they are very helpful. This is just one, and once you find his, there are more.. If you have any problems with all this Zack, we do have members who are able to help you out if you just ask us.

Now this is very important Zack: without the TC certificate, it is illegal for you to fly you RC planes and drones anywhere. Without the certificate, Avon cannot accept your membership dues. The Avon field is Members Only, and private property, so until you have your certificate, and your dues paid, please do not come back to the field.
Sandy Club President It is important to Mr. Little, and to the Avon club , that he not break federal laws and fly at our field. There is news today that the Feds have given the RCMP $189 milliion to help chase RPAS scofflaws. If he shows up, maybe you just phone the mounties in windsor....
