A basic rule of thumb that has always worked for me is
float length 70-80% fuse length[ back of prop to fin post]
float width 12% of length
floats spaced apart 25% wing span[ center line of floats]
step approx 50% of float length, may vary by manufacturer
2" min float in front of prop
2" plus top of float to prop tip [6and 12 pos]
step on the a/craft C.G.
Balance floats to bal. Airplane so when floats are removed, airplane bal. not affected.
