WOW!!!!! Clear skies. Little wind straight down the runway. 27 pilots, from Avon AND 4 other clubs,  who came to fly. And fly they did. Great time.   

I received several comments from visitors about the wonderful condition of the field. Credit and plaudits to the Thursday crew for the effort they put out.    Very much appreciated...

Jill MacDonald donated 5 dozen sweet corn from Anderson's in the Gasperaux. So many thanks Jill - best corn I've had in a long time.  Kevin MacKay did his usual fine job of planning for and BBQ'ing the rest of the food. With rotating help at the grill, he managed to cook up all the dogs and cow  patties he had. Don't think anyone went hungry. 

In the voting for the Ches Lockhart Best of Show, 24 of the 27 pilots cast ballots. While there was a bit of spread in the votes, final tally showed that the Large scale Cessna built by Dennis Bellefontaine was indeed the pick of the crop. So much was hand made, including pulling the cowl and the canopy in his wife's oven ( noooo you don't do that Dennis!!!) the plane was most deserving.

All in all, great day of flying and friends getting together. Thanks for coming people.

I did get a few comments about the smell from the Honey Hut... however since I'd Pinesol'd the hut on Thursday, put RV holding tank  prebiotics  and quick lime in the tank, we decided waaaaa nothing I could do.
