I was curious about the lifespan of A123's (not to be confused with LIFE batteries and found this info.

"With A123, the impedance just doesn’t drop significantly with calendar age.. I’ve got packs on their 6th season; still within 85-90% of their original capacity and unchanged in impedance. Frankly, we don’t know what the calendar lifespan for A123 in R/C service is yet.. but will likely retire the ones in my planes when they’ve dropped capacity by 25%.. at the current rate of degradation it’s looking like @ 10 years. The packs will likely outlast the airfames. Wink"

Ok, Now Let's leave Fingers alone.  Oh hell I can't resist this one.  Sorry Sandy.

The Baghdad Battery is believed to be about 2000 years old (from the Parthian period, roughly 250 BCE to CE 250). The jar was found in Khujut Rabu just outside Baghdad and is composed of a clay jar with a stopper made of asphalt. Sticking through the asphalt is an iron rod surrounded by a copper cylinder. When filled with vinegar - or any other electrolytic solution - the jar produces about 1.1 volts.
