Well, in my spare time, I have started work on the 5x8 Wells Cargo trailer I bought from Whitey.  First I painted the interior with four coats of oil base high gloss White paint to brighten things up. Next, I applied a leveler to the plywood floor butt-ends to smooth any bumps.  I used self adhesive tiles; but, also prepared the floor with Armstrong 515 thin-set adhesive.  I was pleased with the results as the tiles are very aggressively bonded to the floor.  I added self adjusting jackstands to the trailer back end to prevent turtling, an AC input plug, replaced the weather stripping around the door, re-did the chaulking, repaired the door anchor stop and touched up some minor surface rust. Stuff left to do:  Install roof vent, install E track, power bars, battery power, Metal tongue box, LED Lighting, Install Solar power exhaust vent fan and insulate ceiling with double bubble foil.  I also plan to paint the wheel rims and the trailer frame.  I have a few ideas, for setups, to hold the planes secure that I think will work well.  I want something that will adjust and quickly secure the planes I will be carrying that day.  I wasn't keen on using the E track at first; but, reconsidered after looking over a few designs.  Will post more pictures as the project continues.

Nice Bruce. I will be taking possession of my new 6x12 Neo all aluminum trailer on Wednesday night. I'll be doing a floor and painting mine this weekend. E track is also on order. I'm going to add more 12v lighting to improve the interior lighting. I'd also like to add a "shore power" plug as well. Where did you get yours?

I plan on adding a work bench, radio, a charging battery and a solar panel to keep it topped up. On one of the rear barn doors I gotta have a coat rack for jackets and hats. 12vdc beer cooler Grin too

Great.I'll check them out. The math dictated that I should buy local, so now I don't have to drive to Maine this weekend. I'm looking forward to gearing up the trailer. Bought mine same place as Whitey, out in Brookfield.

Yes, it's all your fault Glen Grin

Mine is the 6x12 Mike, as I wanted that extra breathing room. First order of business is to get the walls painted gloss white and some flooring installed. Then wiring, 110v then 12 vdc power lighting. In order to have the onboard battery charging while driving, I'm going to change out the flat four plug to a round seven and use the mains from the truck to charge it.

As for the 110v, I'll have a couple outlets where the bench is going and one outlet by the rear door. I'll also use the 110v for a separate battery charger when not connected to the truck.

Lots of fun work ahead Smiley

An idea worth thinking about if you're going that far with the electrical is to watch kijiji or other sites for a new or used power converter panel from a camper trailer. Gives you everything you need, 12 volt converter, 12 volt charger, 110 dist. panel, fuse panel, etc. all in one unit.
I found one for $100, now all I have to do is get a battery and wire everything.

Some pics of mine from today. Flooring in, walls painted, speaker wire installed. Just have to put back the interior flashing that covers the wires near the roof line. I added some reflective tape to the rear frame.

115v to install yet. Found some low profile wall mounted boxes to use use too.

Dan

Oops, my pics are a little too big...I'll post them later.
