Saturday, June 25. AC almost scribed a groove in our runway with the Stbd wingtip of his Spitfire. I didn't think I got the shot; its out of focus but you will get the jist of what was going on. It was impressive.

Its pretty amazing to think that I shot downwards to get that picture. Even the Port wingtip is below my eye level.

As an addendumb to this thread, Mr. coolen set a new low for himself today at the war bird meet. Despite the runway being mowed to impeccable quality and standards, The Cool one wasn't satisfied.....

Well the firewall is back in place and the weed wacker will fly tomorrow. Weather permitting.

Hi Guys
Them big gas engines sure are hard on firewalls.Had to go and put dowels through the four sides on mine, I even got a good 3/8 firewall. The Plywood is crap in these larger planes. Grant |

beautiful sequence!!!! Well done. the evidence speaks for itself your Honour. Mr Coolen deliberately flew his spitfire onto the ground without respect for that immaculately prepared grass runway!!!!!!

Great set of pictures. As I suspected the firewall relieved it's self after the strike. That little bit of time allowed me to get her home. That plane is very good to me and provides me with a lot of entertainment. I'm going to have to respect her a bit more then I have been.
