New Field Weather Station will be up soon. Just waiting for a part. It will be broadcasted on the internet. There will be a tab on the main forum page to access it.

WOW Bruce!
Looks like it could be from The Weather Network. At least it will be more accurate/real time then they are. Great! |

Hi All:
The weather station is up and broadcasting. You can get it several ways. Click the link on our website “Avon Field Weather”, type or click the following URL into your browser http://www.weatherlink.com/user/falcon56 and bookmark it or download the free WeatherLink Application from the App store for your Iphone, Ipad or Android. For those mainly concern about wind and direction; if you go to the summary on the upper top, right hand edge of the weather page you can find the 2 minute and 10 minute real time average wind speed for the field. Super job on that weather station Bruce! We need one of those with a camera on it as well.
That android app is great, been using it for a while. Scotia zinc mine is quite near our field and they have a station. Another great weather app for android is called weather bomb. Get it at the Google play store for free. Seven day weather forecast with radar, temps, wind. Great app! |

have a weather channel app on my BB, forgot about it - right now your station shows 2 deg warmer, 6 km less wind. but 2% more humid.....BBM not accurate but close enough for govt work.

That's because mine is local; so, the accuracy is better. Bruce |

For now there is a tab on the main menu "Field Orientation". The compass rose on the picture matches the runways using true north rather than magnetic north. True north is used for wind direction. Had to put the picture upside to match the direction as if you were at the pilot stations. If the wind is shown as east on the weather station, it is blowing right to left on the picture.
