I am sure there is a lot of interest in seeing how this thing performs.

I have had a lot of really good luck with the gear I have picked up from HK over the last few years but have never taken the step of putting any of it (other than lipos) into something not made out of foam.

Hopefully the Turnigy turbine works out. It is going to be interesting to see how the initial testing from Xjet goes.

Looks interesting, Mark. Might be a keeper. I'll be keeping an eye on this. [smiley=tekst-toppie.gif] [smiley=tekst-toppie.gif]

I was thinking about this the other day, after reading discussion on another board. My major thoughts on this turbine, besides the service issue, are, it will become more and more affordable for ppl to get into a turbine model. Now, for the most part this is awesome for most flyers that want to get into one and have the skills for it. But on the flipside, its more affordable for the ppl who want a cool jet and don't have the skills for it. Turbines can be really dangerous in the hands of a novice, especially without the proper guidance and support. Just my 2c worth

Yes, and they should only be sold from hobby shops, right Greg  ;D

Seriously though, You're right, just because someone can afford something doesn't necessarily mean they should have it. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't maac require people to be checked out on turbine operations before using them at approved fields ? Hopefully that will help mitigate most potential issues.

No special requirments from MAAC, but there should be and I believe it will come to that. Turbines for the masses :-? that could be scary  [smiley=lipsrsealed.gif]
