Title: Identify this plane! Post by Davey Crockett on Apr 17th, 2012 at 10:19am
Hey guys, I was poking around kijiji this morning and I saw this plane for sale in Falmouth... It's simply described as an orange rc plane with and OS .50 in it. The plane is receiver ready... And they'd like $200 for it. If I can figure out what it is and get a chance to go see it I may consider picking it up instead of jumping right to the Phoenix SU-31 I have have boxed up at home... Any help would be greatly appreciated... also $200... high, low, just right?

Davey, it kinda looks like a Sig Four Star Forty to my old eyes. A fairly decent intermediate plane, came/comes in a bunch of sizes
price depends on what shape engine is in, what shape plane is in, what are the servos... lots of help aren't I |

Hi Dave:
I believe that may be Adam's plane. He had other commitments and didn't join the club this year. It has high visibility because of the colour. It was a good flyer the last time I saw it and was in reasonably good shape. I believe he got the OS engine last year. He bought it from Alan Murphy. Offer him $150.00. Can't hurt. Bruce |

Thanks Bruce. The gentleman the wrote back was named Adam so I suspect you're right :) I'll have to think about it a bit more.

I vote 4 star 40. The Bongo had a really blunt canopy and larger tail surfaces but overall very similar.

Yep, but the four star did not have build up tail feathers,
tapered wing tips, anda rounded top deck :-? Indeed they are very close. Twinkie |
