Title: Duty Or No Duty on ARFs From The US

Hey,

what is the consensus on shipping ARFs from the US. Is there duty or not?

Cheers,
Joe

Just picked up a 3D Hobbyshop Edge 540 from adchobbystore.com out of California...  I was charged shipping on the initial sale and then taxes and brokerage fees COD once the package arrived.  Luckily the hobbystore declared the Edge's value much much less then what it was worth and in the end I only paid about $70 bucks in brokerage and taxes  :)  Hope this helps.

If anyone is interested in checking out my purchase I put up some photos on NRCM's forum

thats right, on my Extra a few years ago there was shipping and sales tax and brokerage, but no duty... and FedEx threw it over the fence into my back yard at no charge...... :-/

Hi Joe,

If you tell them to ship USPS, you will not pay customs fees.

I should have mentioned that also. I had an order from Tower Hobbies shipped that way and I didn't end up paying anything outside of regular shipping.

Although some will only ship UPS anyway

Hi Joe,

Paul has a 30cc EG Aircraft MXS-R Matt Hall scheme.  Not sure if he wants to part with it or not but I would ask him.

He just bought the 50cc Peak models version same Matt Hall scheme.

That is a nice plane. If you are talking to him, let him know that I would be interested. Not sure how to get a hold of him myself.

Thanks
Joe

Stop being a wuss and man up and get a 50cc you little girl! Enough with the tiny planes aleady. Time to climb out of the sandbox and play with the big boys...  ;D ;D

And no lame excuses about how to transport it.... you got a truck don't ya?
