Hello All,

SFOC email from MAAC TODAY has both Good news and not so good for Shearwater RC Club. The good news is that they just have to draft a process for issuing SFOCs for Events/foreign pilots and DND Airspace and we will then (now bad news) have to wait and submit the necessary paperwork and be approved and the Shearwater club will be back to flying. The timeline for this will be (I'm guessing here) this fall but no later than the spring. I have already contacted PSP and informed them of this update. We (Kevin Campbell and myself) have contacted Carl our zone director to clarify exactly what is required for "written permission" from DND. Until the process for issuing an SFOC is complete we don't know what will be required as Shearwater is SPECIAL in that we are a military club on Military property and the other civilian clubs across Canada are not. They are just within military airspace.

Greg, there may be a difference, in that SFC is a Military club that is supported and sanctioned as part of there Sports supported activities, we can only hope that this will prevail.
