Hooked off work to take in a gorgeous afternoon for flying.

Went to maiden my 1/4 scale Christen Eagle and the landing gear hooked the long grass on landing. Thankfully no damage though.

Kevin Beaver and I got out both tractors and mowed the strips and pilot stations. Both tractors worked good and we tried to clean out the decks as best we could before putting them away but we didn’t use the “hook” to do it.

The grass on the south runway was really long and thick and bogged down my tractor. Went slowly trying to take it easy on the tractor but that didn’t go so well as it turns out.

While trying to finish it I unfortunately broke the mower drive belt. It was cracked pretty bad prior to me breaking it by the looks of the remaining belt. Kevin and I were going to replace the belt but couldn’t see one in the container. To be honest I didn’t look that hard as there isn’t that much light and it was 120 degrees in there.

So, that belt will have to be replaced, I’m willing to do it or help do it this weekend.

Oh and the second flight of the Christen Eagle was good but the 16x8 prop on the DLE 20 makes it go like stink. Will have to try other props in the future.

Pits and parking area will need to be done this week.

Greg
