Can't you use pinking scissors to cut stripps of the cloth you already have and spray 3m to hold the stitches until dopped?

I'm still at it..  Here's a few of the exhaust system  being installed and finalized.

The mount bracket is made.

I've made the fire wall so it is removable. 10 bolts and its off. This really helps when you need to get in there for whatever. The headers will go through the firewall.

Here you can see the header and how tight the fit is to get this all to work. Lots of braze welding to get all these curves to connect.

I was worry about a lot of heat building up inside the plane with such a confined entry for air. I may put a fan in it but the second pic is taken from the forward cockpit so the hot air  radiating out from the pipes should be able to get out easily.  It looks like an easy install but it took a few try's and failures to get it right. Huh

Also because the carb is below the landing gear plate I had to resort to nyrods for the throttle and choke. There are some crazy bends. Not to happy with that either..

I could do that and I considered it but there are three different size pinks on this plane and I would need to cut (I'm guessing) around 100 feet of the stuff. Hard to stay accrued.

You mean you couldn't just buy that exhaust manifold pre-made locally? I'm shocked!  Wink Wink

I need a new keyboard now - mine died from all the drool that's been falling in while looking at the pictures in this build. Looking really nice, Al.

I like your idea of a removable firewall.
What's your expectation of weight?

I don't know and to be honest about it, I'm afraid to fine out.  This plane may need a special MAAC sanction. Huh Or a mammoth scale thingy, or what ever it is they call it..

One good thing about this fuse is I can cover the entire thing with one piece of fabric.

There it is, all covered. Sure was a lot of work to get this far along but I'm still very much enjoying the build.
The last shot is with one coat of poly-crylic.

Move over Steve, I'm drooling too. BUT Al, I think I see your lunch box left in the fuse, back in the first pic from the front...isn't that it under the right pipe..
Man, this is some project Al. Glad you're still having fun with it.

Well I've started the pinking process. I've never done this before so I decided to start at the bottom.

I was pleasantly surprised to discover that this stuff goes on surprisingly easy. Didn't take long at all. After about 2 hours the fuse was half done and I hope to finish the other half today.

That could all change when I get to the wings. They require stitching Huh and it may not be so easy. Time will tell.
