I got lucky, the ribs are nice and straight so I just glue the ply ones the balsa ones.

Smart move on splitting the wing. I joined my wings today to have a look - 100" is a BIG wing. Can't imagine the old days where someone thought a 100" one-piece wing was manageable.

They really weren't that rare; there are a fair number of surviving pictures that show whitewalls. Cool. Will the retract mechanism be a servo or an actuator?
