Ran into my first glitch - someone at CY Models worked at ESM for a short period, I believe.

Manual says to drill the holes for the rear wing bolts 120mm apart. I did that (thought it drilled awfully easy  Angry) and tightened the bolts down. Somebody at the factory forgot to insert the wood blocks between the upper and lower wing skin so now I have a hole in my wing. #^$%#^$#

Somehow, I don't think 1/8" balsa sheeting will be strong enough to hold a 100" wing on (
not with my landings)
.

I can fix it by opening the wing on the top side (which will be hidden when bolted in place), gluing in blocks next to a couple of wing ribs and adding a new piece of wing sheeting. Bit of paint and all will be good.

That sure does sound like an ESM thing.  Maybe he was fired from there and went to ESM because he a better fit? Grin

Damn, I know the instructions clearly show that the space between the two rear wing bolts is 120mm. They lie.  Angry Angry Angry It's 120mm from the center line of the wing. Blocks were in there. Just had to play "Where's Waldo?" to find them.

On her own legs finally...

Looked like lots of room but a bit of a tight fit
the cowl is only 305mm in width, you know
. May have to cut small holes for the plug wires  Sad but not a bit issue. Bit of paint may make them fairly unnoticeable.

Here ya go Steve..

That bright window behind you fooling the camera, it set the exposure based on the bright light there, resulting in everything else being dark.

Gotta love post production software.  Good job Al.

Steve; the engine looks enormous.  It should make real nice noises.

Thanks, Al. Looks much better, doesn't it?

Mike, the engine looks a bit bigger than it really is because I was so close to the plane when I took the picture. The engine and spark plugs easily fit inside the cowl but I would probably need about an extra 1/4 inch to fit the cowl without making a couple of holes. I was pretty sure I would have to do this so it's not a big issue.
