after about 100 years i rebuilt a crashed saito 100.
BUT i couldn't get more than 7100 rpm on 15% with a 15x6 zinger
almost tore it down thinking "i got the timing wrong"
nope
i didn't check the calibration on my tach
the tach wouldn't 3600 a fluorescent. it drifted.
while i was taching the prop it drifted but bright sun usually does that - at least to me.

solution a new tach
now i get close to 9000 rpm at peak (without the 300 richening)
down a bit from 9200 which is benchmark

the tappets need adjusting after the rebuild
i will wait and do that after a couple of flights - if the plane is still in one piece Wink

now i checked my glow driver
that is friztng too

old fart = old equipment
time for a equipment review

by the way glows are a thing of the past according to GH
everybody's buying the 10 15 20 cc gassers

maybe its time for me to switch Tongue

Jack
tappets are what you use to make a new 55$ ASP 55 from HK idle.
you just keep tapping it with a hammer unit il you get a flat throttle curve and it morphs into an OS
