Hi Ron
Been doing this all year .
It is a 14.8 volt on a hangar nine starter.
Of course you don.t run your starter very long anyways . It sure beats the 12 volt gel cells and I only charge every so often. Also it is a good use of your older poly's.

Hi Ron: I use a 3 cell lipo on mine and there is plenty of power.  It's a 2200ma 30C cell and gives much more tourqe than the standard 12V gel cell.  Not sure about a 4 cell; but , I can't see it being much of problem for a heavy duty starter.
