As many of us seem to opt for the less expensive DLE or (Dead-Stick Landing Engine), I am starting this thread so we can share info and work arounds for these substandard Chinese mutants.

http://www.flyinggiants.com/forums/showthread.php?t=57673&page=5

This link will show the use of a film canister to prevent these flameouts with the DLE. I mean every good airplane engine should have a film canister attached, no?

Please post your info, so that others may not suffer as my Hare has.

Cheers
Joe

Hmmm interesting Joe..  Mines running fine *knock on wood* but I'll give this a shot if it starts to act up.

Shane. Maybe you have the knack for these engines. You can have a crack at tuning mine if you like. Maybe Hop Sing screwed mine up at the plant.  Grin Cheesy Grin

There is another thread on flying giants that talks about air bubbles in the fill line which was teed with the clunk

In any case a good tight fuel tank setup is important.  Any small leaks will give rise to a number of problems

Joe,

If nothing else works, I have a friend that has a couple of power hammers (50lb and 100lb) that might do the job Wink

Hahahahaa!!! Whitey will get pissed with all of this work he is doing to my cowl.

I had a look at the fuel system and everything looks tight. I will let the guys be the judge of that one in the final analysis.
