I agree Jack, however I did confirm that number with MAAC. That's the number being written into MAAC's new rules as far as Michael knows.

Just completed two new pilots. The male civilian pilot is 1: 5.5 scale and the female is 1:5 scale. I can custom size to meet your specs...Mike

My scribbled notes are unclear, but height is going to 1700 feet.

Sandy, I would be surprised if the height limit is 1700' as aircraft can be flying in open airspace at alt. of 1200ft and above. anything below that , is assumed to be takeoff and landing. if in fact it is 1700' there would be an Aeronautical symbol on the sectional charts, above our field, to warn overflying aircraft of Drone activities can be expected at that location, as per some Glider fields at Stanley or Debert. All exciting news though.

Spoke with Michael Dick the other night, and got some of the info on the upcoming increase of our height above 400 feet, and the increase of maximum aircraft weight from 25kg to 35kg.

My scribbled notes are unclear, but height is going to 1700 feet.

Maximum weight of planes is going from 25 to 35kg. This is a big help for some of the guys with uber large planes. Also, Turbines and IMAC can fly again.

Now, the catch is, either of these options require a club member with Advanced TC RPass to BE AT THE FIELD WHILE IT'S HAPPENING. So I can't fly my Stampe over 400 feet unless there is an Advanced flier at the field while I'm there. But if there is one there, I can fly my Pheonix up to 1700, assuming I can see it up there. Someone with a private pilot license will be acceptable  as well.
Just found out that anyone who was "ever" a private pilot would be acceptable

MAAC is in the process of arranging with The RPas Center, a large national training organization, for MAAC members to get access to their training course for free. There are 8 study videos, and training tests, all to help us pass the TC Advanced test. Once we have the on line test passed, arrangements have been made to have us tested by one of their people, at our field, with our plane, for $20.00.

Details and MAAC rules and regs are coming, and each club field has to be sanctioned, again, for the changes to kick in.
