The fence we are putting up was discussed in detail at the spring meeting. Was voted on and passed. We are actioning the item.
As a matter of interest Grant, the fence will be pretty much what you are suggesting here. Fence along the west side, along the east side, and behind the pilots as a barrier. Corners and other spaces will be open for mowing and field access.
WOW is a nice field, and their fencing is up to standard. But WOW flies mostly smaller electrics. Avon has a lot of heavy gassers, and some turbines. Our fence lay out protects us a bit from an errant take off or landing.
If you think the tables need replacing bring them up again when the president calls for items for the agenda for the next meeting. |

Hi guys Now that the pit area fencing is down and next stage is to take place, wondering do we really need fencing, At the west end some set up by the road outside fencing with a taxi way access to the runway, same could be done at east end with a barrier on the flight line .Just a thought guys was looking at wings of wellington and all they have is 2 barriers for the pilots flight line and cut grass for taxi ways with longer grass in between. The work tables are just about done in. Way to big and to dam hard to move, a smaller one would be just as good So perhaps we could spend our money on new tables and forget about pit area fencing. It would make mowing grass a lot easier with a wide open pit and smaller work area tables that the average guy could move on his own Grant |
