With the cooperation of both the flying gods, and the COVID gods, Avon RC Fliers is hosting (finally) the third annual Ches Lockhart Memorial Scale Fly In! The event is August 27, 2022, with a rain date on August 28, 2022. . All planes must be a recognizable scale airplane. Gas, glow, electric, any size, all are welcome as long as they are scale. There will a Pilots' Choice vote for the BEST OF SCALE. There will be a BBQ. A landing fee of $10.00 will apply. If there are any Provincial COVID restrictions still in effect. they will be enforced. Please note we occupy Provincially regulated Marshland and NO overnight camping of any kind is permitted, whether tent, trailer or RV. We are located at #4499 Highway #14, past Daniel U-Pick and the winery. Flying starts at 9:00

Well, almost too good to be true. With various weather models calling for rain Saturday morning, and chances of Lightning, we've decided to move to Sunday, the rain date.

Every thing is the same except flying time starts at 10:00.

Had a great day doing search and rescue from the corn. Two recoveries with one without any damage.

Yup. 30 guys signed up...lots of visiting, good food, SAR multi in the pattern most of the day.

After all that hub bub, the winner of the 2022 Ches Lockhart Memorial Cup is Kevin Beaver.

His Sopwith Pup is a fine aircraft, and flies so well with the Saito 3 cylinder 4 stroke engine. We were trated to see Kevin's plane, flying along with Jeremy's Fokker, and Steve Norman's Nieuport. Great stuff.

Kevin sets a new standard, being the only flier to have won the trophy twice. So now the gauntlet has been thrown for coming years.
