Title: Power Supplies
Post by Fingers on Jul 19th, 2021 at 8:28pm
I have about half dozen power supplies from older computers. They can be made into nice stable power supplies for chargers on other nefarious uses. Few bucks and some soldering.

As they used to say on Stacey's Jamboree.............."No Chahge"

Sandy,
AT or ATX power supplies? I could use an AT power supply. I could use a 300 or 400W one for charging the Shearwater club's CAR Batteries during the winter months while I have them stored here at my place. I use the 2 deep cycle batteries to run my RV 33000 BTU RV furnace to supplement heat in my garage.

'AT' power supplies are older and use a manual on-off switch. (push on /push off) ATX power supplies use a momentary touch switch to turn them on or off. The switch supplies a temporary grd to a logic cct.

All modern computers use ATX. either can be converted to a bench power supply.

Also power supplies come in 20 pin or 24 pin versions depending on computer motherboards.

My old blind eyes would suggest these are AT units.

An easy way to tell is if they have Molex 4 pin power connectors they are AT. If they have a SATA power connector then they are ATX.
