Today, Monday May 22/17, I delivered a packet to the RCMP Detachment over on Morison Drive behind (in front of) Windsor.
The packet had a letter introducing our club to the RCMP, a copy of the Interim order from TC, and a copy of Avon RC Flyers Charter from MAAC. The sole purpose of this exercise was to inform the RCMP, that if they get a complaint or inquiry about "drone" flying behind Daniel's U-Pick, we are legal and exempt from the TC Order. Cst. Byrne came to the detachment and picked up the folder. Very nice guy, knowledgeable about the TC order, and "knew" about us. He said he'd heard we were behind Daniel's but hadn't been sure where. We talked some about models, and "drones" and the hazard they could create. He assured me the packet would be made known to the other constables next day. A copy of the packet, in a zip lock envelope, will be in the "greenlea box" at the pits. Should any constables ever show up, proof of our status is there. Hoo Rah |
