Title: Reason for the New Forum Colours
Post by administrator on Feb 12th, 2013 at 5:01pm
The new Forum colours are more in style with our Site Logo developed by David Sayers and Mike Whitelaw.  A lot of thought went into this symbol, more than many people will realize at first glance.

The obvious is the name, as our flying field, is located in the Avon Valley. The aircraft sweeping through the "A" signifies an aircraft on takeoff, performing an aerobatic "Knife Edge" as she gains speed. The words "Radio Control Flyers" tells us that the aircraft are Radio Controlled and we are the "Flyers"

A few things not so obvious, are the Blue and Red colours of a WWII Spitfire's roundel.  Also, the large Capital "A" symbolizes, the fact, we located in a valley and surrounded by high hills.

On behalf of the members of the Association, I would to thank Mike and Dave for creating this brilliant emblem for our Association.

Oh, and one other thing, the plane at the head of our Forum page is Dan Marchand's Large Scale Radio Controlled Spitfire, on approach, with the Landing Gear just coming down.  Hard to believe its not an actual Spitfire slicing though the air.
