Some features I like, some I don't. The rotating messages (random quotes and news) don't fit properly and causes the webpage to bounce up and down every few seconds making it very annoying while reading posts. The photo besides the club logo at the top looks completely out of place and should be removed as it now looks very cluttered in my opinion.
Sorry Bruce, but in this case, too much of a good thing....... Dan |

I thought I had that resolved with the screen bouncing. Tested on a 20 inch and 14 in laptop screen. No Problem with the opinion Dan. :)
More opinions are solicited guys - bad or good. It's your web site and this is the only way to know what the majority of people like or dislike in the forum's appearance. Bruce |

On Safari on my Ipad mini the clock moves up and down the screen. Sometimes obscuring the posts. Might make sense to axe the clock as there is one already for most in the bottom right hand corner of their windows

I am pretty sure the "bouncing" is due to the screen resolution. If you are testing on a system with high res, you are not going to see it. In the old days, we tested on 1024x768, but today,I would start with 1280x based on wide screen. It's what happens when the wrapped text is large than the table cell size.

Hi Ben: The forum has issues with Ipad and Iphone as do a lot of other forums. It's actually more than the clock. I'm trying to iron them out. Don't know if I'll be successful or not. The software was produced well before the small screens and wasn't optimized for them. It can be done, just don't know if I have the expertise yet. Thanks for pointing it out.

Dan: Is this still happening while reading posts? I tested using down to 1280 and still no problem. But I do see a major problem at 1280 with the headers. Everything is pushed together. Looks good on a 20 in 1600X1200 monitor but thats not what a lot of people have. Will make changes. Bruce |

Hey Bruce I had the same issue with Blackberries and smart phones in general on our forum and our site. I ended up having to fart around with the css and the template we were using for the forum itself. It can be time consuming. :'( |

The Forum has been optimized for a resolution of 1280. It also looks good at other resolutions. Unfortunately, when testing the forum I used a 20" high resolution monitor and 15" Laptop at a resolution of 1600*1200. The screen looked beautiful ;D;however, at 1280 it looked like crap, all crowded together. From now on, I'll test at that resolution, as it seems to still be a popular standard. I do need your valid input when new changes are made, so I know how they affect certain systems. Ipads and Iphones will have to wait as I gain more expertise. :)

well, resolution aside, I liked the picture on the top right, and I like the random quote. I have no problem with the banner scrolling along telling guests to register, but I find the larger plug, asking guests to register and welcoming people to the site, alternating with the quotes, redundant and superfluous,,,
We have a larger AVON logo to the right, not sure we need "Welcome to the ... blah, blah" blinking on and off as well. I have no resolution problems...but then have neither an Iphone nor Ipad and never serf (!) with my BlackBerry... >:( |

Sandy, most people aren't as well off as you with state of the art equipment. ;D The picture made it too crowded on the majority of systems. It had to go;but, you still have your quotes. What blinking? Bruce |

Thanks Dan, and actually it's looking pretty good on the Iphone also. Cleaned up some stuff. Bruce |

at the top there was the "welcome to Avon Fliers" in neat red, then it blinked off to be replaced by "register now to enjoy all the benefits" then I think there was another...redundant now because you're back to the plain "Welcome to " header.. I also don't care for the new feature of having the reply box there automatically whether I want to reply or not... |

@ Fingers

Take some time to try it first. It's different but has some nice features. Like having all the posts to view while typing your topic and also clicking on the arrow beside the post name to auto add that name in the post. If the majority dont' like it then it can be removed; otherwise, I think it has some merit to enhance the forum. Bruce |

OK, always up for enhancements.... ::)

Got resolution problems.....just don't make any! ;)
Also, I'd rather eat blackberries than surf on them. ;D |
