I've had my eye on a 70" Extra 300 EXP for months and at 20% off it would be difficult to pass up. So I checked and sure enough it was in stock in the colour scheme I like so I had to go for it.
Thanks for pointing out the sale Grant! Rick |

What did they charge for shipping ?
|
Title: Re: Extreme Flight Post by RocketManRC on Apr 13th, 2012 at 5:53pm
Haven't received notice of the shipping charges yet. I could still change my mind if I think they are too high. But I am expecting them to be approximately what I saved with the sale price which works for me.

Title: Re: Extreme Flight Post by Shane Morse on Apr 13th, 2012 at 7:22pm
Please let me know. About 7 or 8 months ago I contacted them and the shipping price was $275 give or take a few dollars.. I can't remember exactly. That was on the 78" version.

Hi Guys
I know when I ordered my Extra in March 2010 the trucking company sent me the required forms for custom clearence I believe 60 dollars. I then had to go to Dartmouth and get the plane from the shipping company. Of course I paid the shipping charges 89 dollars when I was billed the Extra. At the time they told me that was the ony way they could ship to Nova Scotia. I would like to know what it cost now too. Love to have that 88"Extra 50 CC Grant |

I am getting 186$ for UPS 59x22x12 22lb using their calculator.
The cost will be less because of the Extreme flight shipping discount Not sure of the brokerage fees there should be no duty because it is exempt but you may get a 60$ charge on top of the amount westjet charge 50$ for 82in (l+w+b) this is 93inches drat dang drat :( |
Title: Re: Extreme Flight Post by RocketManRC on Apr 13th, 2012 at 8:06pm
I ordered on-line and chose to pay by Paypal. So the way it works as I found out, is they send you a final payment request after they figure out the shipping and you either pay or not. If not they cancel the order.
I didn't hear anything today so I guess it will be Monday. I will let you all know. But of course by then the sale will be over. |

Rick
I would ship to the hardware store in Calais Maine They will hold for 60 days I think fee is 6$ Name of store I was told but I forget It would be cheaper to buy from Pilot RC in China http://www.pilot-rc.com/ProductShow.aspx?id=108 419 +90 shipping EMS better airplane too |
Title: Re: Extreme Flight Post by Shane Morse on Apr 13th, 2012 at 8:46pm
Extreme Flight will not ship UPS. The only way they can ship to Canada is by an independant trucking company like Grant said in his post. I am curious about this hardware store because would consider this as an option

Very interesting about pilot-rc Brian!
I will let you all know what I am quoted from Extreme Flight for the shipping costs when I get it. I may just have to go back to staying with what I already have for the summer which was my original plan. lol. |

https://www.azurehobbies.com/ carries Pilot RC stuff and is based in Canada. Shipping would likely be cheapest through them. I think they are out of Ontario.
On there website they say free shipping to most major Canadian cities. |

Azure hobbies have great prices
I like the bundle on the 26% I can get a 30cc DLE for 222 plus 50 shipped from China http://rc-fans88.com/ The Pilot RC price for the same combo is 699+90 shipped to canada no tax |

your name c/o
Johnsons True Value 188 north street Calais, Maine 04619 They are great, no need to call ahead, just go down and get your stuff. Works with UPS, USPS and FedEX. Make sure though that you have your receipts printed off and bring them with you to the border. If you can't prove how much you paid for your items, they'll hold them there until you can. I have been sent back before. 48hours means 800$ per person duty free not sur eif you still have to pay HST????? |

Title: Re: Extreme Flight Post by RocketManRC on Apr 18th, 2012 at 3:54pm
So here's the final outcome on the 70" Extra. The shipping to NS is $150 because the box is too large to send by USPS. Since I got $80 off on the sale it seemed acceptable so I went for it.

I'm keen to try it electric at least to start with. Maybe with one of the AXI motors people on the RCG user forum have been using and 6S-5000 batteries. I've already got a Phoenix ICE 100 ESC looking for a home...
